More about me

I was born in Arkansas in a little town called Magnolia. At age three we moved to Irving Texas where we lived until I was 12. Then we moved to East Texas and I stayed there until I was 38. I moved to central Missouri and have been living here since.

I have always had a desire to help people. To help could mean just about anything but I found that people always came to me and asked a question seeking advice. That would make me approachable. Later I learned that I was patient. That was the word everyone used..."you're so patient when working with me."

Then in 2008, I had a student worker ask me the question that changed just about everything. After he and I had talked about whatever was going on with him, and I had given him some advice, he asked me, "Why don't you do this for a living?" It was a question that would haunt me for the next few years.

Where I live right now, there's really no 'school' to learn the skills needed to become someone who helps others. I wanted it to be more spiritually based but not religion. I wanted to learn a new trade but I didn't want it to take forever to learn. So, I started my search for a new school that could be taught online. That's when I found Southwest Institute for Healing Arts, SWIHA. Well, that's a great name for a school and sounded right up my alley. So, I applied.

That led me to the next two years (2014-2016) of studying the healing arts. I believe that most of it was introductions into some things but my study was more on Clinical Hypnotherapy. About halfway through my degree I also wanted to work on Spiritual Studies. That was added to my class load. At the end of the day the degree has a long title: Associate of Occupational Studies in Mind-body Transformational Psychology with a specialization in Spiritual Studies and Clinical Hypnotherapy. That gave me certificates as a Holistic Wellness Practitioner, Life Coaching, Clinical Hypnotherapy (a total of 400 hours), and Spiritual Studies. And on my own, I received a certificate in Somatic Repatterning and Reiki.

A few years later (2019 into early 2020) I took an Angelic Healing course. I fell in love. It's energy work. There is a pause in the process and I wondered if I could do Reiki while the client was laying there. So, I took more Reiki classes and went through levels 1, 2, Advance/Master, Karuna Ki and I have the Grandmaster class as well. I didn't realize how much I would enjoy energy work. Now, it's the foundation in which I work from for all the other modalities.

In the next few years, I would struggle with starting my business and my confidence flagged. I was working full time and starting a business and being mainstream were at odds with each other. But I never shut the books, I kept reading, I kept learning and I'm finding that it's all about me making a decision. A decision to make changes in my life and live my life to the fullest. Not to find happiness but to live a happy life. To stop struggling and actually thrive. To be the best authentic version of myself. And in all of that my services became more refined, unique to me from all of my experience.

I have a client, who is also a friend. Most of the time we do 'friend' stuff together, talking, and painting. In the past when she would come over, I would throw out ideas that would help her and she would shoot them down, repeatedly, leaving in our wake a huge debris field of ideas that had been shot down. Needless to say, there was resistance, yet later, she would travel through her debris field and pick up the things she needed and I watched her bloom. I watched her grow. I continue to watch her grow and shift and change and bloom into a beautiful woman that lives authentically. I am so very proud of her.

Now, I want to share those services and I want to show up for you. I want to be your anchor, your beacon, your cheerleader.  Do I have it all figured out? Probably not. Do I still get stumped? Of course. Do I work my way through it? Absolutely.

I will continue to learn. I will continue to grow. And I will continue to be the best version of myself, for me. If I can help someone on their road to growth and becoming the best version of themselves then I feel like I have done a great job because at the end of the day…I just want to help you grow into the best version of yourself.
